The first tree that the Final Four court is made out of was cut down six months ago today.

Six months ago today outside a small town in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula a Northern Rock Maple tree was cut down with about 400 students watching. Why was this such a special event? Well, this tree was the first Northern Rock Maple of about 100 similar trees that would be used to create the beautiful wood flooring used in this year’s NCAA Men’s Division 1 College Basketball Final Four and Championship games to be held in Indianapolis, April 4-6, 2015.

Connor Sports provides the Official Court of the NCAA and on September 24, 2014 worked with the Forest Park School District in Crystal Falls, Michigan to provide a great opportunity for students to learn about forestry management while watching a special tree be harvested for a very big game.
